Equipment

  • Baking sheet, mixing bowl, saucepan, spatula, zester, tongs

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings split and tips removed
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional, for heat
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh orange zest and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange them in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden brown.
  • While wings are baking, prepare the glaze. In a saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, cinnamon, ginger, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently until thickened.
  • Remove wings from the oven and toss them in the glaze until well-coated.
  • Return wings to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize.
  • Garnish with orange zest and green onions before serving.
