Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls

Making these cinnamon rolls from scratch is easier than you think, and the addition of eggnog in the dough and glaze adds a unique holiday twist. The result? A buttery, tender pastry that melts in your mouth with every bite. Pair them with a hot cup of coffee or a creamy eggnog latte for the ultimate holiday indulgence.

Ingredients

  • Dough:
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm eggnog 110°F
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Filling:
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • Glaze:
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp eggnog
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm eggnog, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add melted butter, eggs, salt, and 3 cups of flour. Mix until dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes, adding remaining flour as needed, until dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Roll out dough into a 12x18-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface.
  • Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, then sprinkle over the butter. Roll tightly and cut into 12 rolls.
  • Place rolls in a greased 9x13-inch pan. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, eggnog, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls
