Chocolate Avocado Mousse is a lusciously creamy and rich dessert that's surprisingly healthy. It's perfect for those who love indulging in chocolate but want a healthier alternative. This mousse is not only delicious but also simple to make, requiring minimal equipment and ingredients. It's a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt!

Ingredients

  • Ripe avocados: 2 medium-sized
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: 1/4 cup
  • Maple syrup or honey: 3 tablespoons adjust to taste
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Almond milk or any plant-based milk: 2-4 tablespoons, as needed
  • Optional toppings: Fresh berries coconut flakes, chopped nuts, or mint leaves

Instructions

  • Preparation: Start by halving the avocados and removing the pits. Scoop out the flesh and place it in the blender or food processor.
  • Blending: Add the cocoa powder, maple syrup (or honey), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the avocados. Blend on high until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add almond milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Tasting and Adjusting: Taste the mousse and adjust the sweetness or chocolate intensity as needed. If you prefer a richer chocolate flavor, add a bit more cocoa powder.
  • Serving: Divide the mousse into serving bowls or glasses. You can serve it immediately or chill it in the refrigerator for an hour for a firmer texture.
  • Garnishing: Top with your choice of fresh berries, coconut flakes, chopped nuts, or a sprig of mint for an extra touch of flavor and elegance.
